EC Eligibility
A new EC from a developer comes with HDB eligibility conditions, so it pays to check before you choose a unit.

The basics
- Who can buy: an eligible family nucleus, for example a married couple, with at least one Singapore Citizen and at least one other Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident. Singles can apply together with other singles if all are Singapore Citizens aged 35 and above. For complicated cases, please contact me directly to consult on possible scenarios.
- Income ceiling: average gross monthly household income of up to $16,000.
- Eligibility check: HDB assesses your eligibility as part of the EC application.
- Minimum Occupation Period: 5 years for Wynwood Grand and Solano Grand. ECs on land sites tendered from 8 May 2026 have a longer 10-year MOP.
- Grants: eligible first-timer families may receive the CPF Housing Grant for ECs.
